Psalm: 7, 27,31, 34, 52, 56, 120, 140-142

7: This is nice, I like it, it's all warm and fuzzy. Let God take care of business when it's needed.

27: This one just sort of sums up everything Jamie has said about God. Its like "God" the cliff notes, or "God For Dummies". "....of whom should I be afraid?", and "wait for and hope for and expect the Lord"

31: I get the feeling David may have been in a bad place when he wrote this. It just seems written from a place of sadness and forlorn. Although the message in and of itself is positive it still has a heavy feeling of sadness lurking about it.

34: Now this is upbeat and happy, I feel no sadness in it. It could be because he was pretending to be insane at the time and drooling on his beard...

52: Dang. I guess he told you.

56: It all just sounds so nice, doesn't it? Just put everything you have in Him and all your wildest dreams will come true.

120: an angry little poem

140: I get the feeling David needs a break. Wickedness is around him at all times apparently, sharp tongues, and trap setters abound.

141: This one seems like its asking God to give you strength to take care of yourself. That, I like more than asking God to take care of things FOR you. This I can take more comfort in.

142: another low point for dear David.

There are little hints throught these that David expects God to do all of these things for him and to help him because he [David] is obeying God and acting righteously. David is not saying help me even though I denounce you and willfully disobey you. David has no problem with accountability.

David also stresses how important it is to give thanks to the Lord for all of his blessings and help.

27:4 is awesome and beautifully written...."One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I see, inquire for, and [insistentl] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple." That is what Christians consider Heaven.

27:10 explains why we are God's children.

14...."Wait and hope for and expect the Lord,..." Expectation is key. It's not enough to believe. Belief doesn't constitute faith. Faith is believing and expecting.

31:5 says God is "..the God of truth and faithfulness."

31:18 is for J and S..."Let the lying lips be silenced, which speak insolently against the [consistently] righteous with pride and contempt." I like this because it speaks of the consistently righteous. Not those who obey God when it's convenient, but consistently, even when it's difficult.

34:1 "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." Not just when things are going great, but at all times.

34:7 is awesome, too. Great visual.

34:18 tells again how you cannot fool God into thinking you're sincere in your repentance.

34:19 Tells how the path of a Chrisitan is not free from all problems, difficulties, tragedies....but God will deliver and be with you through whatever comes.

34:22 is ultimately about our salvation on judgement day. "The Lord redeems the lives of His servants, and none of those who take refuge and trust in Him shall be condemned or held guilty." Notice He is redeeming. He is not putting people on the path to Hell, He is saving/rescuing(redeeming) them.

Many times throughout the reading it also references the authority of God's Word. God's Word (and all it contains - blessings, healing, salvation, damnation - will come to fruition. There is power in the authority of His Word - the Bible.

Ps 52, 140 is for J and S. Ps 120 tells why they are everything bad they claim Christians to be. Ps. 141:5 is how they should look upon correction. Instead of getting defensive, and think I am offending them or being unkind.

BTW, S, why, pray tell, did you switch betwixt the "ph" and the "v"? Did you finally get serious and have the surgery? Just curious and just a little friendly goshing. I'll ask Crystal what your response was.
