deuteronomy 14-16

You are special people, make no baldness on your forehead for the dead. Review of the food thing, an interesting law that I don't remember the last time, if something simply dies you can't eat it, but you may sell it to an alien. The child in my of course pictures this as a little green man buying a dead grasshopper from an isrealite.
If you can't carry your tithe of grain to the Lords house, he totally accepts cash. Just sell it and bring him the money. Today I hear they even take credit cards. Doesn't putting your tithe on credit defeat the whole purpose, as credit is money you do not currently have? I digress
So it says you sell your stuff, take the money to the Lords place and not give it to Him, but spend it on WHATEVER your appetite craves! Then it gives some examples, ready for this? Its pretty crazy, kids turn your heads "oxen, or sheep, or new wine or stronger drink!" Its gettin crazy up in here!!!
Give to the poor, the needy. Every 7 years creditors are to grant a release, and if you have a slave (so slavery is ok?! I find this strange?) You are release him after seven years BUT if he wants to stay because he loves you, guess what you have to do? NAIL HIS EAR TO THE WALL!!!
Review of the Passover, The Feast Weeks, Unleavened Bread, and Tabernacles
We end this reading with more warning against other gods. This caused me to wonder, if God created everything then where did the idea of these other gods come from. Who was the very first person to think this up? Didn't God know this was happening? I wonder why he didn't just stop it there, seems like he could have saved everybody a lot of blood shed? I know, I know...free will.but beyond that he had to know people were creating gods to explain things like weather, the sun, the moon etc...if he knew that he was going to kill them at some point for considering that then why not stop it before it gets out of control? Like as a math teacher, if I see a kid converting fractions to decimal and they are doing it wrong, I will correct them and teach them the proper way. I'm not going to allow them to continue to do it incorrectly and when they fail the test say "oh well, SORRY!!!"

People probably put it on their credit cards cause they've already spent the money they made. Which is a no, no. They're supposed to give God the "first fruits", not the after thoughts.

Wine and strong(er) drink. The Bible does not say you cannot drink alcohol. It says do not be a drunk(ard). It's the addiction that causes the sin, as well as the loss of control if you drink excessively(in my opinion).

The word slaves here is more like an indenutured servant, which I think I said before, but anyway. Isn't that kind of what Obama wants all of our young people to be now? Isn't his deal..the gov.t pays for your college and in return you're an indentured servant for several years ("volunteering"). But, now, I digress.

Other gods...How is God preventing people from imagining other gods any different from preventing any other sin? Now who's picking and choosing? As long as people have an imagination and a lack of want of accountability, they'll always make up something to fit what they want and what's easiest or what allows them to do whatever it is they like to do. In today's world, GOD is not easy. God did and does show us the right way, we just refuse to listen.

Here we see that helping the poor is a voluntary, moral issue. Not a legal one. Probably why Conservatives give 3-4 times as much to charity as Liberals (even with all of their spouting off about welfare and socialism).

Don't misapply judgement. Do not take a bribe, etc....all good stuff.

God hates idolatrous images. i.e. take the bobble head pope of your dash.

haha the old indentured servant bullshit.

I didn't write this, it's straight off evilbible.com but I couldn't possibly put it more clearly.

Except for murder, slavery has got to be one of the most immoral things a person can do. Yet slavery is rampant throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves.

Many Jews and Christians will try to ignore the moral problems of slavery by saying that these slaves were actually servants or indentured servants. Many translations of the Bible use the word "servant", "bondservant", or "manservant" instead of "slave" to make the Bible seem less immoral than it really is. While many slaves may have worked as household servants, that doesn't mean that they were not slaves who were bought, sold, and treated worse than livestock.

The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

The following passage describes how the Hebrew slaves are to be treated.

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him.

If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

Notice how they can get a male Hebrew slave to become a permanent slave by keeping his wife and children hostage until he says he wants to become a permanent slave. What kind of family values are these?

The following passage describes the sickening practice of sex slavery. How can anyone think it is moral to sell your own daughter as a sex slave?

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

So these are the Bible family values! A man can buy as many sex slaves as he wants as long as he feeds them, clothes them, and screws them!

Anonymous, if you'd look back you'd see why I don't answer any of their questions or even read their comments...I just scroll right on passed to make sure no else or Crystal has commented. They are not looking for actual answers to questions, they are looking for arguments, because they can't fathom what has been told to them by both Crystal and I the point of this blog. They even argue about what's written plainly. That doesn't mean they have to agree with it or like it, but that's not the point of this blog. If you'll take the time to review, you'll understand better what I mean.
